Privacy Policy

We collect what we need to operate CigarPalate (your email, the cigars you log, your palate profile). We do not sell your data, do not run advertising on the site, and do not share your identifying information with third parties beyond the infrastructure providers that store it.

• Account information: email address, first and last name (provided at signup), and an age-verification flag with the date of birth you entered at the 21+ gate.
• App activity: the cigars you tag (wishlist, favorite, smoked, avoid), the tasting sessions you log, the free-text tasting notes you write, and the wrap-up ratings.
• Palate profile: a numeric flavor vector derived from your sessions. It updates only from your own logged input.
• Technical metadata: basic request logs at our hosting and database providers. We do not run a separate analytics or tracking pixel.

• Payment information (the app is free).
• Precise location data.
• Contacts, photos beyond cigar bands you upload, or device identifiers.
• Third-party social profiles.

Your data powers the features you see: recommendations, your humidor view, your palate visualization. AI calls (band OCR cleanup, third-tasting translation) send the specific snippet they need to OpenAI’s API and discard the response. We do not train AI models on your data.

• You. Your data is private to your account. Other users do not see your sessions, statuses, or palate.
• Our infrastructure providers — Supabase (database + auth), Vercel (hosting), AWS (image storage), OpenAI (AI features). Each has its own privacy policy.
• Law enforcement only with a valid legal process.

You can edit your name and password at any time from /profile. You can delete your account from the same page; deletion is permanent and removes your profile, sessions, statuses, and palate vector.

CigarPalate is for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
